The Dutchin Family: Dutchin Family Adventure

We are in phase one of our new adventure as a family. In order to get to this phase we had to pack up and move out of the place where we have hung our hats for the past five and a half years. I realized last week that no matter how much you don't want to live somewhere it is still hard, strange, and a bit sad to walk out of a house where you ate, slept, cleaned, raised babies, held parties and holidays, and relaxed in the evenings for over half a decade. Our two babies were made in that house (too much information?? - sorry!), Luke took his first steps in that house, we had good times as a family in that house. The best word to use as cliche as it may be: bittersweet.

But leave we must and leave we did. Packing and moving is a necessary evil in life but we got it done. All our worldly belongings are now in storage except for the clothes, toys, and necessities here and there that we have brought with us. Luke was a little rockstar when it came to packing up boxes. He never questioned that we were leaving, just kept making sure he got to bring all his stuff. "Mommy, can I bring my Packer football?" "Mommy, can I bring my fire truck?" "Mommy, are we bringing Samuel?". Yes, yes, and YES!

We are now settled into the Homewood Suites by Hilton to live out the remainder of our days in Texas (coming soon - blogs about life in a hotel!). We say good-bye to Bellinger Way and look down the road to what comes next.
